FOY 2004 Salma Hayek page complete!

Finally I've pulled myself together and completed the FOY 2004: Salma Hayek page that you've all been waiting for!

This year I've also posted the correct ranking by number of posts:)
Hope you'll enjoy it. I know Salma does.

I took the liberty of changing the Salma smallpic, since that old one (with the baroque clothing from Wild Wild West) was really not doing justice on her. As you can see, Angelina Jolie the winner of FOY 2003 has disappeared from my mainpage, but you can still reach her through the tribute page. Lost, but not forgotten:)

Female of the Year 2004: Salma Hayek

I haven't had the chance nor the energy to really congratulate the Female of the Year 2004, namely Salma Hayek who won with a good 5% lead in front of the America-favoured Elisha Cuthbert who got 34% of the votes. Congratulations, Salma!

I was taken aback when Pauly got sick just before New Year's Eve and in and around x-mas, because his plea to make readers vote really boosted Cuthbert's chances leaving the FOY 2004 #3 femme, Anna Kournikova, back with only about one fifth of the votes. And I must admit that I was certain Cuthbert was going to win.

But it didn't end so. Shortly after the voters of FOY had crossed my 550 vote line and also the 650 vote line, MIB reorganized his minions, drafting voting-soldiers from around the parts of the web he's hanging out at and yet again I was taken aback. Here's a taste of his chatlogs.

On January the 1st at around 4pm I managed to pull myself together to officially end the election. The final results spoke clearly, and from my webstatistics there are no reason to believe any foul play was involved from any parties. In fact, it's all politics.
The exact order of the femmes will be published later this week on the Female of the Year 2004 page. Feel free to comment this year's contest on that page.

Once again I must thank you all for participating. I am honestly without words when I see the dedication of some of FOY's voters, and all honour to you as this competition and webpage as a whole would've been nothing without you. Thank you again!

FOY 2004: Reaching for 550 votes

Winning the race? The 29th of December, and nearly five houndred and fifty votes have been cast, primarily among three top notch femmes namely: Salma Hayek (35%), Elisha Cuthbert (29%) and Anna Kournikova (26%). I hope we can at least reach 600 votes before january the 1st, but to overthrow the Hayek dominance, runner-ups will need plenty of votes. Last year's poll got 502 votes.

Elisha Cuthbert: 29%
Jessica Alba: 1%
Audrey Hepburn: 0%
Jolene Blalock: 2%
Tara Reid: 0%
Salma Hayek: 35%
Anna Kournikova: 26%
Charlize Theroni: 0%
Andrea Diaz: 0%
Kristanna Loken: 0%
Keira Knightley: 1%
Kate Beckinsale: 0%
Number of votes: 545

Don't forget to vote!
The polls close sometime during the 1st of January. When I wake up.

And on a side note, Halle Berry was elected the most beautiful actress of Hollywood by the Parade Magazine's readers this week. Nearly 3100 votes places Halle on the top in front of Catherine Zeta-Jones (19%), Angelina Jolie (14%), Jennifer Lopez (7%) and Kate Hudson (6%). (Read all about it)

Tuesday, December 21st 2004

Last poll count before X-MAS

Yup. I'm going away for x-mas, and my updating capabilities will be strongly reduced. I'll be like Superman with earrings of Cryptonite. Reduced.

Elisha Cuthbert: 27%
Jessica Alba: 1%
Audrey Hepburn: 0%
Jolene Blalock: 3%
Tara Reid: 0%
Salma Hayek: 29%
Anna Kournikova: 30%
Charlize Theroni: 0%
Andrea Diaz: 1%
Kristanna Loken: 1%
Keira Knightley: 1%
Kate Beckinsale: 0%

Number of votes: 313

As we can see from the figures, Russian Anna Kournikova has a small lead on the two follow ups, Hayek and Cuthbert. Last year the Russian popduo t.A.T.u managed to get a few votes, but Kournikova has brought Russian femmes to new heights. Thanks for everyone voting so far, but we are far from finished! Vote!

More than 200 votes in twelve days!!

Yup. The figures ain't lyin', baby.

At the time of writing 218 votes have been cast. It's outrageous! It's fantastic! It's phenomenal! It's...
I think I just wet my pants.

Anywho. Here's the latest:

Elisha Cuthbert: 26%
Jessica Alba: 0%
Audrey Hepburn: 0%
Jolene Blalock: 4%
Tara Reid: 0%
Salma Hayek: 31%
Anna Kournikova: 32%

Charlize Theroni: 0%
Andrea Diaz: 1%
Kristanna Loken: 2%
Keira Knightley: 0%
Kate Beckinsale: 0%

The front-runners are continuing the race, but Jolene Blalock is still clinging on to that shred of hope. And hope there is! There are still days left until the 1st of January, so go and vote!
Remember that 0% doesn't necessarily mean that these gals haven't got any votes. When the contest is over, I'll go through the statistics more carefully.

On an additional note, I'd like to focus your attention in MIB's direction, since he has posted a big banner _on the front of his frontpage_ advertising his favourite in this year's Female of the Year. That's the kind of spirit I like to see around the web. You will have to visit his site to find out who I'm talking about. I had a dream about that particular candidate a few nights ago. It was something different, I assure you.

Monday, December 6th 2004

Over 100 votes in 6 days!

That's right, boys and girls! Allthough the delays of this year's FOY contest have undoubtedly caused some restlessness, people are still eager to vote on their favourite female! Here's the women who's gotten any:

Elisha Cuthbert: 30%
Jessica Alba: 1%
Jolene Blalock: 2%
Salma Hayek: 29%
Anna Kournikova: 27%
Andrea Diaz: 2%
Kristanna Loken: 2%

It seems we currently have three front-runners, just like last year, but we still have more than three weeks left before the winner will be announced.

On a general note I'd just like to add that winter has come to Oslo in its most terrifying way. Women are all packed-in in big, flobby coats and furs. It's the season of impregnable imagination. So, even though your bedside is cold, literally untouched, by the goodness grace of a gracious girl, keep warm by focusing on the femmes present in FOY. It warms your feet. Don't forget to vote!

Female of the Year 2004

It's that time of year again. What time? The time to let the show begin. We are talking about Female of the Year 2004. Which girl will have the qualities needed to prove worthy of staying on the front page of Sigg3 dot net for an entire year? Last year it was Angelina Jolie (FOY 2003). This year, we have these 12 girls participating, in chronological order:
  • January: Elisha Cuthbert
  • February: Jessica Alba
  • March: Audrey Hepburn
  • April: Jolene Blalock
  • May: Tara Reid
  • June: Salma Hayek
  • July: Anna Kournikova
  • August: Charlize Theroni
  • September: Andrea Maria Milroy Diaz
  • October: Kristanna Loken
  • November: Keira Knightley
  • December: Kate Beckinsale

The voting, beginning today the 1st, will last until the 1st of January at an appropriate time (probably when I've been able to drag my drunk ass out of bed:)
If you want to check out the nominations of these women, you should check out the fresh Female of the Year 2004 page, and find your special one to click. And of course, let's not forget the FOY 2003 tribute to Angelina Jolie.

FOY 2004, December girl: Kate Beckinsale

In the row of 12 females to participate in this grande election, our December girl is the only one nominated by a woman (thank you, Amanda)! Apart from being an actress on the rise, this girl who was born in 1973 is/was also an aspiring artist. She won the W. H. Smith Young Writers' Competiton twice, once for several short-stories and then for her poetry.

FOY 04, December: Kate Beckinsale

She's seen in several famous movies, including Pearl Harbor, Underworld (I knew I'd seen her before!) and Van Helsing. You can find some great, almost artistic pictures over at Allstarz.org's Beckinsale page! We welcome her as the final female to enter this year's contest, and wish her all the luck!

FOY 2004, November girl: Keira Knightley

November is chilly and the introduction to a cold, dark winter. ...which is why it is surprising that our November girl is so hot!! She's a West Ham United supporter, but more famous for her appearance in SW1: The Phantom Menace as Queen Amidala's decoy, and her roles in movies like The Hole, Pirates of the Caribbean and King Arthur (playing Guinevere).

November 04, Keira Knightley

I was unable to find any larger fansites of Knightley, something I find odd, because she is immensely cute (see the first pic below). There's no doubt of her worth and she was immediately accepted into our Female of the Year contest.I haven't had the chance to see King Arthur yet, but after seeing the pictures I guess I will have to pretty soon:) We wish Keira good luck, only lacking ONE contestant before we can proceed with the FOY 2004 election! There's still time to suggest a female to the contest!

Monday, November 22nd 2004

FOY 2004, October girl: Kristanna Loken

It would be easy to think that this year's October girl was selected just because of her semi-Norwegian heritage. You're wrong. She's hot! I regret to say that I haven't had the chance to see her in action in that latest Terminator movie yet, but I guarantee you I will some uneventful Saturday.

FOY October, Kristanna Loken
Click for full-size!

She's an authentic farm-girl, having grown up in her parents' fruitfarm in upstate New York. Her personal motto is: "Believe in, and follow your dreams" It will be interesting to see wether she can follow them in our Female of the Year! Here are some of the photos I enjoyed:That leaves only 2 girls before we commence this year's election, something I hope will be on the 1st of December. There's still time to suggest your nominee, if you haven't done so already.

FOY 2004, September girl: Andrea Maria Milroy Diaz

Shourov from TheVerandah.net sugggested this dazzling beauty for FOY04 September. The great looking Venezuelan babe with the long name is also a participant in this year's Miss World contest (see her page). She's a twenty year old student with a life motto of: "No matter how hard things can be, if one perseveres from the heart you can fulfil your goals."

FOY August, Andrea Maria Milroy Diaz

I was unable to find any more information about her on the web, so her Miss World biography is the only confirmed source of pictures. I think the one presented speaks for itself though. Anyway, we congratulate her with her accomplishments, wish her the best in both Miss World 2004 and Female of the Year 2004!

FOY 2004, August girl: Charlize Theroni

This potential FOY 2004 is 5' 9 1/2" (1.77 m), which is exactly my height. She was proposed by someone whose name has disappeared thanks to my host deleting all my archived mail. (Another good reason for going Gmail.) But this post is not about mail or names, it is about the South African actress known best for her performance in The Devil's Advocate and The Italian Job. Trivial facts includes some interesting family details: When she was 15, her father attacked her mother, and her mother shot her father in self-defense. Her father died, and her mother was not charged in the incident. Her rags to richess story is as cut and pasted from the American dream, a failed ballet dancer who soon was discovered by a Hollywood agent.
We're honored to have her with us, Charlie:)

FOY 03 August: Charlize Theroni
more great pics at Charlizeonline.com

She appeared in the May 1999 issue of Playboy magazine, and has previously received more than one prize for her beauty, including a rank of 4th most sexiest women by FHM Taiwan in 2001. We wish her the best of luck in our great competition, where eleven others will challenge her for what's she's worth.
Oh, and if you haven't done so already, check out the fresh FOY 2003 page!

FOY 2004, July girl: Anna Kournikova

We've fallen into a habit of only nominating actressess and celebrities, which should arouse discomfort towards a general tendency, which is why the July girl of FOY2004 is an athlete. She's an excellent tennisplayer, ranked as one of the best in the world, and she was born in Moscow 1981 thus becoming one of the youngest participants of Sigg3 dot net's Female of the Year ever.. (note one of) Apart from her good looks and great tennis-stats, she's also known for her loud panting in court:)

July 04: Anna Kournikova

The profile at Kournikova.com reveals this about FOY2004's July girl:
Birthdate: June 7, 1981
Birthplace: Moscow, Russia
Residence: Miami, Florida, USA
Height: 5' 8 1/4" (1.73 m)
Weight: 123 lbs. (56 kg)
Plays: Right-handed (two-handed backhand)
Status: Pro (October 1995)
Thus becoming the most profiled woman of Female of the Year. Some photosRespective sources: Kournikova.com and Superiorpics.com:)

FOY 2004, June girl: Salma Hayek

This year's June girl is a dashing beauty. I wonder why she wasn't nominated last year? Mirza, who suggested her, told me it stood between her and last year's winner Angelina Jolie when he nominated last year.
To me, Salma is a girl we all can relate to. She has not, to my knowledge, played in highly sophisticated creations of art, but thrillingly entertaining action movies such as Desperado and Wild Wild West.

FOY 2004, May: Salma Hayek
«I keep waiting to meet a man who has more balls than I do.»

She's a native Mexican, born in Coatzacoalcos in 1966, which undoubtedly is a reason to her famous good looks, but there's no question about her talent as an actress. We can only wish her the best in the upcoming Female of the Year 2004. Here are some especially selected photos:The two best webresources to Salma: IMDB's page and naturally www.Salma.com!

EDIT: Mirza was eager to dispute this post, so I grant him an edit. According to him, one of her latest movies called Frida (read summary) is not a thrilling action-movie, but more in the line of 'highly sophisticated creation of art'. To me it's hard to tell, because I haven't seen the movie. The summary clearly reveals its biographic elements containing artists (and consequently art as well, one should think), but this itself does not create art. I also stick to my "babe" image of her, because in my mind - in my heart, she'll always be a babe. Sorry for the crude interruption.

FOY 2004, May girl: Tara Reid

Suggested by Sobient. She was born in 1975 and is famous for movies like American Pie 1 & 2 (playing Vicky), Urban Legend and Alone in the dark. I haven't seen any of these, but that doesn't keep her from qualifying by her sweet look. Just have a peek at this shot from the Oscar 2004 party.

May 04: Tara Reid

Adoredcelebrities.com calls her "one of Hollywood's most promising youngsters". Read more about her on the biography page: Tara Reid - Biography. Also see her IMDB page. Some great pictures of my choosing:Congratulations!

FOY 2004 news: What's happening?

We're closing in on the Female of the Year 2004 election, but we're still short of nominees! Call your friends, relatives, mothers and creepy neighbours and ask who they think should be the official Sigg3 dot net femme 2004. Then head back on to the internet and tell me what you've come up with!!!

Three new nominations have been accepted, and I will update FOY with them as soon as possible. We still lack five, 5, women though, so I appreciate all help!

Due to the deadline frenzy pushed upon my by matters out of my reach, I've forwarded the election-process to December. This is also to let people gather their strenghts around the Sigg3.net FOY election, as it is a compassionate hand out to those voting today (in the US or elsewhere:) and people buissy writing their novels, while I try to get a grip of the latest technical issues of my server.. Stay tuned!

Saturday, October 9th 2004

FOY 2004, April girl: Jolene Blalock

This year's April girl was nominated by kekePower. April is a special month for me, so it was no doubt when Jolene Blalock was nominated, because she's a special girl. She plays T'Pol in the Star Trek Enterprise series. Special, all right. Sexy. Which is probably why she was featured in AskMen.com's Monday-femmes getting an overall rating at 80/100; "There are few things in life that we can be sure of. Death and taxes are certainly two things we can expect -- now we can add another one. Begin a new Star Trek series, add an incredible hottie, and you will get a star on your hands that will be the fantasy of Trekkers everywhere." (Read more)

April 04: Jolene Blalock

Most famous quotation: «I think my parents were high when they named me.»

Some great pictures:What kind of man does she prefer? «I like men who are very cool but also so brilliant that they are almost insane. Sean Penn, Gary Oldman, Tom Waits-men who would be flipping burgers if they hadn't found an outlet for their brilliant mind-sets. I also like men who have hands with big masculine veins that you can squish and move.»

Congratulations! Now, check out the other girls, or suggest your favourite!!

NEWS! Change of FOY rules!

As we're closing in on December (two months to go) and we've only got 3 nominated females, I've decided to do something to get nominations a-flowin'.

Henceforth disregard §4 of The Rules which states that "All suggestions and requests to nominees MUST contain a 50-word explanation of why just this woman should be part of the contest." This rule is hereby removed from the contest, since it seemed it put a block on people's enthusiasm. I'd still like to quote something from the nominations, so please give a short reason of why your femme should be part of the sacred 12. Now, go ahead and suggest your favourite female!

FOY 2004, March girl: Audrey Hepburn

Due to the lack of incoming FOY nominations Sigg3 dot net has been forced to proceed with desperate measures. This particular nomination is then an exception to the rules. I'd be glad if you could take this a bit more seriously. "The world ends tomorrow and you may die!"

The March girl in our Female of the Year 2004 competition is none other than actress and filmlegend Audrey Hepburn. The 31st of May this year she was crowned to be the most naturally beautiful woman of all time by an expert panel seated in Australia. (Read more about the election and see the list over here)

March 04: Audrey Hepburn

She was without a doubt one of the most characteristic actresses and women at the time which makes her an obvious choice for nominees. I congratulate with her natural nomination and also being the first deceased participant of Sigg3 dot net's annual FOY.

Read more about her here.
See some more photos (by google).
