Star Wars Triology ############# George Lucas has written some great novels, some was the beginning of my interest in fiction and especially sci-fi. I won't talk about the books right now, but movie no. 4, 5 and 6 (titled 'A New Hope', 'The Empire Strikes Back' and 'The Return of The Jedi'). The theme of these three movies can be narrowed down to good vs. evil, but one has to remember the subplots which plays a big role in these movies.

In 'A New Hope' Luke Skywalker's (a peasant, unknowingly son of a Jedi who's apparently dead) uncle and aunt are killed by people of the Empire, a few days after they've bought two droids (R2-D2 and C3PO) who's been the loyal servants of the (unknowingly) kidnapped princesse Leia. In the holographic memory of R2-D2, Luke finds a distresscall addressed to an Obi Wan-Kenobi. Luke knowing an old guy living not so far from his uncle's, with the name Kenobi, takes his jetcar and hovers down to his place. Obi looks at the message and looks really concerned. Luke not understanding what's going on, receives a lightsaber (the weapon of a jedi knight) who's belonged to his diseased father, understanding less ('cause his uncle always told that Luke's father was just a kid flying spacecrafts around the galaxy). Kenobi tells him that Lukes father was a great jedi warrior, and that something called 'the force' flowed in him. When Kenobi and Luke return to his uncle's, they find nothing but dead and misoury. Empire troops are already on the lookout for R2-D2. Luke joins Kenobi (and with them, R2-D2 and C3PO) to help save the princess, and along the way they team up with Han Solo (a smuggler with an old rusty craft, the 'millenium falcon') and his companion Chewie (wookie). After a whole lot of action, Luke begins his training to become a jedi warrior like his father was. They find a moon not visible on any maps, and discovers too late that this is the Empire's new weapon (with guns to erase entire planets of the map) called the Death Star. Here they find princess Leia, and escapes. Kenobi, however, has other plans to attend. He faces the Emperor's left hand, Darth Vader, an evil character so physically destroyed by evil that his entire body is in a mechanic, black suite. They duel, and Kenobi doesn't any longer have the strength he had, which Vader does.... and Kenobi dies. Princess Leia persuades Luke and at last Han to join forces with the Alliance, the rebel force of the Galaxy. Together they all succeds in blowing up the death star.

The story continues in 'The Empire Strikes Back', where the beginning of the story is set on an iceplanet ironically called Hoth (and all the outside shots were actually filmed in Norway:). A probe sent out by the Empire finds himself on the planet of Hoth, and manages to send a transmission to the mothership before Han Solo blasts it. The hiding place of the rebels is no longer secret, and they start to evacuate, but before they've completed the Empire knocks on their doors with great AT-AT's (All Terrain Armored Transport). Luke and his companions are getting a few of them down, but a few of the good guys too are blasted of the sky, but this creates a chance for the princesse to escape, which she does in Han Solo's very tired MF. They are chased around abit, but Han Solo hits the hyperspacebutton and... nothing happens. It's not repaired yet, and they seek shelter in the lethal asteroid fields.. On Hoth, Luke has got enough and manages to escape in an X-Wing fighter (also seen in ANH), but instead of going to the rendez-vous point, he (companied by R2-D2) sets for the system of Dagobah 6 to meet a great Jedi Warrior named Yoda. He crashlanding into the swamp with less than a minute to exit the craft and seek shelter in the muddy forests of Dagobah. He's suddenly surprised by a little, green dwarf whom appearenly knows Yoda, but denies to take him to him before a meal. And Luke, having nothing else to do, joins him to his hut.
