one week in peace 2:2

[ Saturday Taizé, 14:00 ]
I'm now in the old church in Taizé from the medieval ages and I find inspiration here (I think). Just arrived with Antoine from Cluni, and he went to Oyack. Il est un lieu de silence, and we're only two persons in the room. My smallest movement make loud noise! I'm now exiting to not disturb.
Right before you enter the area of the sanctuary, there's this old wall with a tower which I drawed ("Cool like Fonzie"): (C)

This was the last entire day I had in Taizé, and I spent it with Anton and Tom, but also the girls at work, Darkov and brother Lütz. It was so terrible knowing that one day this paradise would be 1000 miles away (at least). That saturday at church was the weekly light-mass.
All the church was lit with little candles every each and one of the approximately 3000 people in the church! After the usual song and meditating, we were obliged to listen to brother Roger preach.. (He's 86!) Right in front of me was this father and mother with their lovely boy twins. They were great company, cause they could make one understand why one would like to make a sanctuary of peace, like Taizé.

Moving to the next and last day, I had a good time, but Tom had a bad feeling about his future. He hadn't any money, and the next bus coming from Lithuenia might not come until weeks had passed. But first things first. We skipped the Sunday mass (which is supposed to be very special.. I wouldn't know) to say goodbye and farewell and write! to Anton, who's going to take the bus to the nearest bigger city where he'd catch his train. Writing this I have not accomplished to get in touch with him, so I hope these words might reach him somehow and reach him fine: I had a great time in Taizé thanks to you, and I hope our friendship will last despite the petty distances!
After he'd left, Tom was really sad and so was I. We both knew that we might never get in touch or might never meet again in our lives ever again, so little was said. I gave him the rest of my money and explained that if I'd had more I'd given him everything. And I ensured him that I had a good feeling about him coming home soon. Luckily(?) I was right.

[ Sunday Leaving Taizé, 12:05 ]
I've just said goodbye to Tom and two hours ago it was Antoine. Those two will be the ones I'll miss the most when I think back on Taizé. Hopefully I'll come back here some day, and remember Sigge; the atmosphere and peace you find here and nowhere else in the world...
