Pauly sent me the US Marine gunfight rules:
With U.S. military forces ready for war with Iraq, troops around the nation
are preparing to ship out for the Middle East. The Marines have taken a
lighter look at some rules of ground combat, and we obtained a copy of them.

Among the 24 rules are such gems as, No. 1: "Bring a gun. Preferably, bring
at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns," and, No. 2,
"Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is
expensive"

Rule No. 7 is: "In 10 years nobody will remember the details of caliber,
stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived." And No. 8: "If you
are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading and running."

Rule No. 10 addresses a worst-case scenario: "Someday someone may kill you
with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because
it is empty." And No. 11: "Always cheat; always win. The only unfair fight
is the one you lose."

As for prisoners, the rule is: Be careful. No 18: "Watch their hands. Hands
kill. (In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see
them)."

And advice for warriors in combat, Nos. 21 and 22: "Be polite. Be
professional. But have a plan to kill everyone you meet. Be courteous to
everyone, friendly to no one."

In a dig at other services, the Marines offer this: "U.S. Navy rules: 1.
Adopt an aggressive offshore posture. 2. Send the Marines. 3. Drink Coffee."

Army rules: "Show up after fight to provide security and help hand out food
to all of the displaced civilians."

Air Force rules: "Watch this all on cable in a BOQ [Bachelor Officers´
Quarters] while drinking a beer."

Hehe. I've been getting alot of replies to the text I wrote about
women's lib. a few posts ago. Webpages has been linked to it,
I've been ditched, praised, hated, loved, killed, born aso..
It's still only in Norwegian, and it'll probably stay that way.
Reading it today I think the composition sucks, and it lacks the
lash of the wip. Off to check my e-mail, then to work.

My comment? Typical American paranoia. If someone in Europe rise
his/hers voice in protest, he/she is suddenly a fascist or Hitler type.
This is wrong in two ways:
1) The freedom of speach you Americans brag about all the time,
should allow ppl to say their meaning without getting ditched for it.
2) Hitler was (in the early years*) quite an intelligent and strategic person. To assign
these attributes to every sexually frustrated European is wrong.
(*in the last years he based parts of his strategy on the roll of the dice. Literally speaking.)

@ school, taking a break from my work on Zhongni (Confucius) and
his moral teachings. In fact, most of them were not actually his, but came
from the golden age Zhongni wants China to return to;
"The past is our future."
I've been working too much this month, according to my boss.
I'm planning to rebuild my old computer (500Mhz, 256mb SDRAM, Voodoo3 3000)
with the extra cash I'll hopefully end up with having, but then we've that schooltrip to
Scotland and all this after tax and tax and tax has been paid.
From an economical point of view; I am a newt.
I'm also playing with the thought of making a homepage to this RPG/strategy game
I've made, called Kings of Order, which is built on every-day bureacracy.
Pure imagination built on my own observations and experiences with that
manmade beast, has given birth to ideas of a ranking system with special abilities.
I.e. if you're a rank 3 bureacrat, you can assign people to up to four commitees.
If your experience points (EXP) advances, you can continue by assigning advisors to
the committee leaders. The best way to earn EXP is to send your reports to the
Games Master (GM) through your own institutions. It may take weeks, so the GM
must base his evaluation of your personal performance. Good advice!
It's still in the planning stage. Please comment:)

Read my latest child, concerning feminism
and wether feminism is useful or not (in Norwegian) at:
sigg3.net/blogger/kvinnekamp.rtf
It's in rich text format (wordpad), but should be readable
with text editors like Notepad and the likes. I'm sorry, but this is only in Norwegian:P

Hehe, found this in the old chat log archive:
Miss (K): umm...i'm from California, US of A
Sigg3.net: I've heard about it... You've got to get rid of some attitude...
Miss (K): what do you mean?
Sigg3.net: Well, if you don't mind me critizising, I can and will do it,
as long as you don't take it as a personal insult.
Miss (K): sure
Sigg3.net: You've an ape for president, that's all.
Sigg3.net: In addition you've no left-oriented parties within your
so-called democracy either.
Miss (K): are you talking of Mr. Bush?
Miss (K): i'm sorry i'm only 14 years old, but i love my President,
he's doing an awesome job:)
Sigg3.net: that's right
Sigg3.net: do you know who Stalin was?
Miss (K): no, sorry
Sigg3.net: ok, he was a great dictator during the Sovjet-period.
Sigg3.net: Do you know what people at that time said about him?
Miss (K): no
Sigg3.net: "we love him, and he's doing an awesome job."
Sigg3.net: now, in your country's opinion I am a communist.. Do you hate me now?
Miss (K): no of course not

Ok.. I'm really bad:) Can't stand patriotism on a blue monday, though!

Me and the guys were @ the tavern this evening,
enjoying a couple of mouthfuls of beer. Tomorrow morning I'm going to
drive my mum to the airport at 6 a.m. mmmm, yeah right:P
No news about the recordings. I haven't talked to Jon for a while,
'cause I've been quite buissy reading Peter Wessel Zapffe's About the Tragedy.
Heavy shit..
In addition I'm reading his collection of Essays and Cervantes' Don Quijote.
Heh, like I'll ever finish it... I'll probably be bombed by Bush, mistaken for a sami terrorist.
Or not. Good night!

Since the Switch me and my brother were waiting for, came today,
we've only been playing Homeworld aso... meaning?
Meaning I haven't updated any of the pages, yet. Except from
the weekly poem I posted just now @ apoet.no.
Where is Børre (the author) now? Who knows? Even I don't. I'm hoping to hear from him soon.
Check out those fabulous pics of Homeworld below.. I love that gem:P

@School, ditching p.e (physical education).
   Just wanted to say that we've recorded 4-5 tracks at Jon's this weekend;
  • Idol of Irony
  • Good luck (fuck-up version:)

  • Snailhouse

  • misc. demosongs

  • The quality of the recordings are, as expected, poor but very underground.
Hopefully some of it will be available for download of some sort soon.
The pages will be updated 2day. I promise:)

    Sigg3 o 0 ( Kornelius - Some Bob Dylan sheit )

Sitting @ Jon's, where I've practically been since Friday, apart from
sleeping and working. We're here to record some of Kornelius' new stuff,
and maybe some of mine. Using third-party equipment borrowed from a local
radiostation, Jon's equipment, my drumkit and Kornelius' guitars and lyrics.
Except from apoet.no I haven't been able to update
any of the other pages I mentioned earlier. They will, however, be updated sometime
this evening. Perhaps a couple of previews of what we record in here will come someday..
    Who knows? Sigg3 out.
